Aside from having a job and taking out a student loan, how do I get money for college? I am only a junior and I am interested in scholarships to apply for (especially those that require writing, which is my talent). My parents are evil and won’t pay a dime for my tuition.
I DO have a job already!!!

College is not the automatic answer to "What happens after high school?" In order for college to be the answer, many steps must be taken: forms have to be filled out and submitted, and long range planning needs to occur. The planning actually needs to start as early as the eighth grade! College Countdown is a survival kit for teens and parents who

I’m trying to help get my son in college, he really wants to go to the local technical college here in town. Can anyone tell what scholarships are available to him and which ones are not based on his parents income (there’s no way we can help him thru, we have 3 other kids at home). he will be the first in his family to attend college. We are in Georgia. Any advise would be appreciated.

yayosetter51 asked: I am 14 years old, and I am going to turn 15 in August. I plan to go to The Wharton School Of Finance, which is a very expensive college. Very recently, my family has been struck with very hard financial situations. My parents are divorced and I live with my mother. The IRS is now going after my father for not doing his taxes for the past three or so years.
My father might have to give up his 401 K to pay off the debt- about $30,000. That was my college money. My mom will soon be getting a second job just to keep a roof over our heads- as my father can no longer promise child support.
I plan to get a job as soon as I turn 15, and work as much as I can. During the summers, I plan to work two jobs to help me pay for college. So what can I do? How can I save money? What are some things that I can do now, that will help me in the future? Thanks.

I have been in community college for the first 2 years of my schooling so I have not had to take out any student loans yet. I have been applying for loans for this next semester and I have been getting really high interest rates. Some are over 15% which I feel is riduculous. I am 21 years old with good credit and I have used my parents as co-borrowers when applying. They do not have great credit and my dad makes too much money for me to get any government help, but they don’t pay for anything. Where should I go for lower interest rate on loans? Also, what is a good amount to take out if I decide not to work next semester? Thanks!
My parents are married so any information I use goes for both parents.

Does it always work like that, or do you have to have special circumstances or something?

Evidently I’ll need to get a loan to pay for tuition since my parents have run out of funds to help with my tuition. What is best way to apply for a college loan that I can pay back once I graduate from college?
