A question asked by Huntsman: My idea: No more federal student loans for those majoring in art?
These kids are flat out not finding jobs.
If they want to go to school to learn about art they should pay for it out of their own pocket.
These kids are graduating sometimes with 80K worth of student loans and there are no jobs in sight. The statistics are astonishing.
Would like to hear opposing views as to why you think kids should receive federal student loans to take something that will never land them a job

Answer by just not that
there is a big difference between “finding a job” and “finding a job in your major”.
Think about that, because lots of companies out there hire folks with bachelors degree (any degree) for their workforce. What they DON”T do is higher folks at a higher SALARY because they were stupid enough to take out PRIVATE loans for a degree they could have gotten at a fraction of the cost somewhere else.
Its not the degree that you need to bash, its the idiots who borrow with no idea of the consequences (or most importantly willingness) to make the sacrifices (moving back home with the parents) of paying that kind of money back.
