Question posed by simplytosuave: what is the best place to get student loans for a first year graduate student with bad credit?
Here’s the deal, I have already $ 30,000 of undergraduate school debt, and I want to get into more because I just got accepted into my dream school. After what the FAFSA gave me, I still need about another $ 10,000. I have already been rejected by some household student names such as Sallie Mae. do I have any other options?

Student loans are available with a wide range of lenders. Many students are finding themselves tough while going for a higher education. The flagrant cost of the higher education is one of main factors that are impeding the chances of your higher education. Since, education is the sole and one of the important tools for your personal development; it can not be ignored-all.To help you paying efficiently the huge cost of the higher education, now, student loans have been made into provision. From among the private lenders, the online lenders are those one that are known for the simple and fast processing. You can contact a number of such lenders online with their different loan quotes. An online method helps you negotiate for the best deal out of the available options and also make your approval faster. Students can obtain the education loans either with secured or unsecured form. Secured loans require pledging of an asset from the borrowers. Whereas, unsecured form has nothing such obligation. The secured form has a lower interest rate, whereas, with the unsecured one, it is somewhat higher

Question by Megan M: Who is the best bank or business to consolidate private student loans?
My grace period is coming to an end for my loans. They are too high that even with the job I have, I can not afford to pay them all. I have two private loans that I am looking to consolidate. Actually I went through Key Bank to get the loan 4 years ago but for some reason they are split up between 2 different lenders now. I do not understand all the stuff they tell me over the phone when I call places to check on consolidating. Please HELP!!!

A question asked by Nicole C: What are the best ways to get student loans with a decent interest rate?
I have been in community college for the first 2 years of my schooling so I have not had to take out any student loans yet. I have been applying for loans for this next semester and I have been getting really high interest rates. Some are over 15% which I feel is riduculous. I am 21 years old with good credit and I have used my parents as co-borrowers when applying. They do not have great credit and my dad makes too much money for me to get any government help, but they don’t pay for anything. Where should I go for lower interest rate on loans? Also, what is a good amount to take out if I decide not to work next semester? Thanks!
My parents are married so any information I use goes for both parents.

Don’t get into debt if you don’t have to. There are so many scholarships and grants out there. This is the cheapest way to go. Reapply and just use your moms information. Dad is out of the home. Those interest rates will break you, I know. Been there done that and still paying. There are ways around the system I just don’t know where to get the information from.
Good luck with your schooling. Try scholarships.com or grants.org.

A question asked by Jess F: What are the best student loans to get prior to joining the Peace Corps?
I am going to begin college soon & I will be financing it through student loans. I am attending college with plans of joining the Peace Corps. Any help on this subject would be great.

Answer by Elle S
The best student loans are Subsidized Stafford Loans which are given out by your school. They usually have an interest rate between 2-5 percent. So aim for those, Next is Unsubsidized Stafford Loans which have higher interest rates. Talk to a financial aid counselor at your school to discuss these options. Good luck in college and Peace corps.

A question from Jay Cobbs: Which bank is the best for private student loans?
I am trying to apply for a private student loan because my Stafford loan won’t cover my entire semester. Which bank has the best fixed interest rate, and highest turn-over rate for accepting loans?

Thanks for any input!
I have a ready and willing co-signer that has a fantastic credit score and very stable employment, so getting a loan is not a problem. I would just like to know what bank is the best to go with for such a costly decision. Thanks again for helping!

Chosen answer:

Answer by Suddenly Human
All private loans will have variable interest rates and you will be required to have a cosigner with good credit, a high income and a stable employment history. If you can’t afford your school on federal loans only then you can’t afford that school and you need to find a better one.

Your school that you are attending has info on financial aid. I want you to know that on the applications, some students are more eligible for financial aid than others, based on ethnic groups, handicap/disability and other reasons. also try www.ibrinfo.org. This info is from this year/Denver Post/Assoc Press, New Payment options ease school loan pain. Also, if you work in public service jobs, teacher, nurse, etc, some loans get reduced. I worked as a nurse, civilian and military. In 1980. I owed $ 40K to Univ of Miami, that was for 2 yrs only. I attended a jr college/transfer program at Miami-Dade Community College for 2 yrs. Best college I ever attended.. Everyone is looking for student loans. It took me 10yrs to pay back on a quartly schedule, well worth the return.. Good luck in your future education/career. Janet

There are plenty of lenders out there, some better than others. It’s important to remember that you’re not just seeking the lender with the biggest name and the best record: different lenders will provide you with different loan packages, and you have to compare offers and decide what works best for your financial plan. To see the loans you can get from various major lenders, compare your options, and apply for student loans, check out www.SimpleTuition.com and evaluate your options. Good luck!
