How many stafford loans can i apply for at once and can i have more than one as long as they are from different lenders? I’m short on tuition for my next term and I have no co-signer for a student loan

You can only get one Stafford loan per semester or academic year. There are limits to the total amount that you can receive per semester or per academic year regardless of if you spread them across different lenders. Because of this, it would be completely pointless to receive half of the loan from one lender and the other half from another because the total amount that you can receive will still be the same.
The maximum subsidized stafford loan amount as a 1st year student for one semester is $1750, for example. If you take out the full $1750 for the semester, you cannot receive any more loans through the Stafford loan program for the remainder of that semester regardless of who the lender is.
Are you a dependent Undergrad student? Will your parents qualify for the Parent Plus loan? If they would get denied for the Parent Plus loan the Financial Aid office could award you additional Unsubsidized Stafford loans for the academic year.
If you are an independent student you will likely have to look into borrowing private funding to pay the tuition. Have you tried this and been denied already?
You could always inquire into federal work-study, or work off the debt if you are not already doing that. It is harder to do, but worth it in the long run not to over-borrow while in school.
You can get one Stafford Loan and one Unsubsidized Stafford Loan each semester.
