i’m sure there are some that you can apply for now and all you have to do is fill out the profile and they will match you with scholarships. just remember to edit your profile as you take the ACT or SAT and when you become a junior/senior as that will affect which scholarships you qualify for.
Of course you can. Anyone can apply for scholarships. However, your chance of acceptance is not very good as a sophomore. Your chances will improve dramatically when you are a senior and even more so when you are accepted to a university.
Start early! The more familiar you are with the process of applying, the better your chances at winning.
There are a number of scholarship match sites available (fastweb.com and scholarships.com), but consider applying directly to some scholarships just for high school students as well.
Here is a list of scholarships just for high school students:
You can get info about such college scholarships and grants online here – schools.medianewsonline.com
I commend you for starting to think about applying for scholarships so early! The best thing for you to do now is to get in lots of community service hours. Also, start keeping track of any honors or awards that you have won and make a special place in your home for the ones to come. There are scholarships out there for high school sophomores, but not too many. You can go to for more scholarship winning help. Good luck!
