I want a private student loan (not fafsa) but I have bad credit and no cosigner. I was wondering if there is a good company to go through that will give me student loans.

OMG what garbage answers you’ve received so far. The fact is Yes! there are companies that can help you but it really depends on how bad your credit is. I know because I, too, have bad credit after getting laid off due to the recession (thanks, Bush!) and had to return to school. Here is are some banks/companies that help students in our situation, give them a try the worse that can happen is they deny it but you’ll never know if you don’t try. Also try to look into work study or anything else you can find.

P.S. The lendor will also take into consideration what program or degree you’re applying for. I’m going to school to be an RN and so I’ll be making a good salary after I graduate, and the lendor took that into consideration.
What’s the objection to subsidized student loans?? The Stafford and Perkins programs are available to all students and you should be eligible.
If you insist on a private loan, and you don’t have a co-signer, then about the only option to you is whatever bank or credit union you already do business with. But your bad credit is going to limit you; probably only secure money for a couple semesters.
After that, it’s work and save…
