So you will not have the GI Bill until you have served at least 7 years of service compared to 3 years if you take it on the first enlistment. Before it was either the CLP or the GI Bill no matter what, no other options. The Loan you have for college also has to be a Federal loan to qualify, it can't be through a private lender/organization. In order to get both you have to serve the first enlistment, then when you reenlist opt for the GI Bill.
