I was told there was a new law that went into effect saying that new enlistees can get both the College Loan Repayment and the G. I Bill. Is this true? Were my recruiters lying to me? I would LOVE to get both!! (of course)
How is that different from before?

In order to get both you have to serve the first enlistment, then when you reenlist opt for the GI Bill. So you will not have the GI Bill until you have served at least 7 years of service compared to 3 years if you take it on the first enlistment.
Before it was either the CLP or the GI Bill no matter what, no other options.
The Loan you have for college also has to be a Federal loan to qualify, it can’t be through a private lender/organization.
Nope,
Why would your recruiter lie to you about that ?
That just doesn’t make any sense at all.
only if you re enlist can you opt to get the GI Bill. before you had to choose one or the other no matter how many times you re enlisted.
