Does the government really hand out salie mae loans for schools such as cosmotology?
Question posed by Huntsman: Does the government really hand out salie mae loans for schools such as cosmotology?
Federal loans for things like cosmotology, nail tech, massage therapy?
I find this hard to believe since these are private schools (for profit).
I asked in education and just got spam answers about loans (hundreds of them)- no one is there.
Anyone in this section know for sure?
This is NOT a personal question. I am not interested in attending nail tech school and making government student loans to pay for it.

Usually Public schools a TAFE Collleges (possibly private schools) can apply for funding for a new course if that school has sufficient interest from students. I think the minimum number of students required is six. The school would have to submit a requisite form to the Education Department or the governing body that provides funding for such courses.
The school would also have to provide their own teacher for the course and that teachers’ income would be paid from the funding. I think the funding, or grant, ranges from $ 10,000 to $ 50,000 depending on the length of the course, what text books or incidentals or course materials are needed (like a telescope or make up or electronics etc), and whether external visits outside of the school is required.
The funding doesn’t last long and students may be required to pay extra fees for the course and course material.
I only found one link and though it is in Australia, it may provide addtional helpful information.
