Ok so how does this work? My school is only going to cost me $988. So what happens with the rest? Does it come to me? And if so then when?
And this money is for the Spring term, its not for the whole year
Yes this is the total cost for the semester. Nothing more

What does it mean when my student loans have a zero balance due to a claim?

My student loans are through NelNet and I received a letter from NelNet instructing me to stop making payments. The reason they give is that my student loan account has been paid by a claim and now has a zero balance. I have had student loans since 1995; but I also have filed bankruptcy. What does all this mean? What claim paid my loans off? Did I or someone else get sued for the money?

can i use the new IBR plan for my tuition answer loans?

Allie G. asked:
My tuition answer payments are HUGE and i don’t make nearly enough. the loan company refuses to work with me. they don’t qualify for my bankruptcy and i don’t know what to do. i checked out the website www.ibrinfo.org, and didn’t see anything about tuition answer loans. i know with the bankruptcy thing that the tuition answer loan falls under the school loans though it isn’t federally funded. so does it count as a personal loan? and does that mean i can not qualify for income based payments? i have one dependent and i make less than $22,000 a year and i pay more than $400 a month in these loans not to mention my parent PLUS loans and my FFELP loans. i would appreciate some help. thank you!
i’m definitely not taking anymore out. i took out what i needed for living when in school, and now i am done. i just cant seem to get them to understand i only make 20,280 a year and i dont have “expendable income”. the tuition answer loans are a nice loophole in the lending laws for the loan companies. thank you for your answers.

I efiled the FAFSA application (The application for federal student financial aid). I intended to have the information sent to one school- but since the application, have decided on a different grad school.. To have the results of my FAFSA sent to a different college , do I need to reapply for FAFSA from scratch?

Do Plus Loans cover living expenses off campus?

Stella C asked:
I am looking to apply for a parent plus loan because I am not eligible for federal loans. The amount that my school has to offer me for the unsubsidized loan doesn’t help me with my off-campus housing. Is there any type of loan that I can get to cover both my tuition and living expenses?
