Are there any lenders that allow you to borrow a loan without requesting your schools cos info? I thought that you were only allowed to borrow up to the cost of attendance in the Stafford, Perkins, loans. The private loans were to help you supplement additional expenses, like off campus housing?

My grandfather co-signed a private student loan for me. Now that I am done with school, I am the one paying off the loan but since my grandfather co-signed it shows up on his credit report and not mine. Is there anyway for me to get this added to my credit history? Or is there something else I can do for the future, if necessary, to show that I have actually been making the payments and not my grandfather. Thanks!

I understand that it is possible to make a deduction from your taxable income from interest paid on qualifying student loans.

I believe I qualify for this, as I have been paying on my student loans for some time now. However, how do I go about showing this? I don’t recall getting any particular form from my student loan lender. I have statements, but I believe they just show the payments that I’ve made, and not how much has gone towards principal and interest, etc.

Can I request a form, or is there another way to go about doing this?
